Most Americans are more or less ignorant of international politics and especially political history. We are in a time that is the culmination of all the past events. We look abroad for an idea of why we face so many troubles. Still, we manage somehow to be the desitination of thousands of people, perhaps millions of people, who want to come to the States to start a new life.

I'll start off with a little note to the planners and perpetrators of the attacks on the US on 11 September, 2001. The US is not a pushover or weakling, and you will find that out, too.
