In the ice house at the ice festival in Fairbanks

Due to too-warm weather, the Iditarod start in Anchorage was ceremonial and the actual start was moved to Fairbanks.

We took a 45 minute snowcat ride (bumpy!) up the mountain to witness the sunset; however, the weather didn't cooperate.

We were in a heated yurt (unheated outhouse. . .) but got to experience this incredible scenery.
