What can you do when you see a display like this one on your screen after you boot up and before you run any programs? This site will help you better manage your system resources so that your computer has enough oomph left to give you the performance that you paid for and that you have a right to expect. The section What Loads At Startup will explain how you can determine which of the terminate-and-stay-resident (TSR) programs start to run as soon as you boot up, whether you are running Windows 95 or Windows 98. The section What To Uncheck At Startup contains recommendations for which of the most common programs you will see among the startup group you can safely eliminate, which you may eliminate if you don't need the features that they provide, and which you MUST NOT eliminate.
