Film: Right to Risk
No charge. Aappropriate for all the family.
Complimentary dessert and discussion with Kathleen Ryan after the one-hour film.
The first South Whidbey screening of the award winning documentary, Right to Risk, produced by Kathleen Ryan of Coupeville. (www.righttorisk.org)
This one-hour film -- which documents
the life-affirming journey of eight individuals with severe disabilities on the
trip of a lifetime -- is for
the whole family. It depicts, in beautiful
cinematography and first class drama, a raw adventure of 15 days navigating
white-water rapids down 225 miles of the Colorado River through the Grand
Canyon.
ItÕs a most effective film which
changes the perception and improves our
understanding of persons with disabilities. ItÕs such a winning, first rate, film
everyone gets a Ōtake-away.Ķ It also brings community together on
issues relating to our personal and civic understanding of our capacity to
respect and accommodate persons with disabilities.
The
Progressive Association is proud to host this film. Our obligation as owner/caretaker of Clinton Hall is to be
community-inclusive and to recognize our responsibilities to serve all our
citizens.
