THE SCOUT RETURNS!
These three vehicles are being made into one.
The body from the blue Scout will be on the running gear from the Chevy Luv.
Tweety, the yellow Scout, is a parts vehicle.
This is Ben on the tractor removing the last of the body on the Chev
chassis.
We will push it back into the shop and put the Scout body on
it.

This is Ben his buddy Atticus and Todd studying the body mounts
and how
they will work with the Scout body . At this point every thing looks like it will
work out
really well, same wheel base and same frame width. It should be just
like changing a flat tire right?
Just having a short break and laugh before we attempt the body conversion.

After a really really long day we have the body sitting on the Chev chassis
just
blocked up with chunks of wood. It's time for bed!
Isn't the old saying measure twice cut once? Well, it appears maybe we should have
measured three times.
The engine wants to rest were the radiator needs to be.
Not such a good thing.

Ben is sanding the dirt off of the frame so we can weld in the new motor mounts.
We had to move the engine back about fourteen inches.
That in itself isn't so
bad but then you have to build new drive shafts also.
Oh well just a few more
hours work and a few trips to the dump thanks Dave.
The essentials...a roll bar and big tires!
The roll bar will be bolted down to
the floor boards and thru to the body mounts that are welded to the frame.

Check back around Christmas Vacation for the next update.
We are hoping to get
the scout back in before Christmas
but one rather large factor is hunting season
which is approaching very fast.
